AboutUs

Our Vision
To be the best resource and advocate for in-house creative management.

Our Mission
We enhance the understanding, impact and value of in-house design within the corporate environment. We provide expertise, tools, networking and management support. Committed to design excellence and effective design management, InSource motivates creative thinking and promotes best practices.

History
InSource was conceived in September 2002 by Glenn John Arnowitz, Manager Creative Services at Wyeth and Andy Epstein, Creative Director at Gund, Inc. Realizing that there were almost no opportunities for dialogue, training and support for in-house design directors and managers, they formed InSource to establish an association committed to addressing those issues. Arnowitz and Epstein then started calling their peers and quickly found other directors like themselves who were feeling isolated and unsupported in their professional pursuits. InSource moved quickly to provide a venue for initiating dialogue designed to support the group. On May 22, 2003 InSource held a breakfast at Wyeth that included a powerful presentation by Peter Phillips of the Design Management Institute, a respected expert on in-house management, followed by a roundtable discussion where the attendees were able to both speak about the challenges their departments were facing as well as provide solutions to those challenges. The excitement among the participants at having this opportunity to share ideas and strategies for improving their departments was clear, and InSource is now embarking on a number of initiatives to further its mission.

We hope you'll join us in our efforts to support ourselves and our peers in our pursuit of design and design management excellence.
