Martin Shova
Marty is the President of InSource and has over 20 years of design and design management experience leading the internal creative teams for Nabisco and then for Kraft Foods as the Director, Global Creative Services. Marty has worked on such brands as: Oreo, Ritz, Planters, Post and Jello. He holds a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MBA in Marketing and Management from NYU­Stern. He is currently the Executive VP­Marketing Director, for One Flight Up Design and Innovation, a leading design group in NJ specializing in product, packaging and promotional design. www.oneflightupdesign.com.

Glenn John Arnowitz
Glenn is Assistant Director of Creative Services at Wyeth, a research-based, global pharmaceutical company, where he manages an award-winning team of 6 designers. Prior to establishing Wyeth Corporate Graphics, Glenn spent the past 20 years working as a typesetter, paste-up artist, dark room artist, assistant art director and manager at companies such as Art & Antiques magazine, Laura Ashley, Toys R Us and American Home Products.

A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, Glenn has been writing and playing music ever since seeing The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. He has written and produced music for Showtime, The Movie Channel, PBS, MTV, A&E, Muzak, Penguin Putnam, symphony orchestras and has received many commissions and awards. Reproductions of his musical scores have been featured in ArtLife magazine. Glenn has contributed articles to GD:USA, HOW Magazine, The Creative Group's eZine and his department was featured in the book, Bringing Design In-House, published by Rockport Press. Glenn has spoken at the HOW Design Conference, the InHOWse Designer Conference and the Parenting Publishers of America Conference. John Baker
John Baker is currently creative director for RCI Global Vacation Network. RCI is the world's largest vacation exchange network and among the world's largest global marketers of vacation rental properties. He transitioned in 2006 as creative director for Cendant Corporation and its brands which included Century 21, Coldwell Banker, Days Inn, Ramada, Cheap Tickets and Avis. Before Cendant, he has held other design and sales positions, mostly for small size firms like West Essex Graphics, Camares Communications and JS Mandle & Company.

Other than employment, John also serves as a board member for the Art Directors Club of New Jersey and is on their Education Council. He has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design from C.W. Post, Long Island University in Greenvale, New York.

Steve Benfield
Steve Benfield is the Director of Marketing Creative at SAS Institute, the world's largest privately held software company in the world specializing in analytics-based enterprise performance management and business intelligence software. His award-winning copywriting and design team is responsible for the corporate brand, product collateral for print and Web, promotional creative, event and environmental creative, Web and interactive media design, corporate magazine design, print and online advertising, photography, and product UI and packaging. His team received the inaugural Stevie Award for Best Creative Organization at the 2003 American Business Awards ceremony in New York City. In 2006, his team received a second Stevie Award for the best mixed-media advertising campaign in the United States. Before working at SAS, Steve was responsible for multimedia simulation and new opportunity research at Nortel Networks. He has more than 15 years of design experience and holds a BS from North Carolina State University.

Ivan D. Boden
Ivan D. Boden is Creative Director in the Insurance Services Office Inc. (ISO) Design Services department. As senior member of a 4-person team, he oversees design and production of marketing and sales materials, brochures, flyers, direct mail campaigns, numerous studies and analyses and both print and electronic display graphics.

Before joining ISO in 2000, Ivan was cofounder of ImageWorks, Inc., a graphic design and production studio where he produced a broad range of design projects for such clients as IBM, ADP, KPMG, Mercedes-Benz, AT&T, Seiko and Sony.

Ivan is an award-winning designer who has received awards for package design, branding-logotype design, display graphics and numerous others from trade organizations such as the Art Directors Club of NJ and the American Association of Graphic Arts.

Ivan attended Ramapo College for his undergraduate studies and continued his education at Pratt Institute studying graphic design, typography and illustration. He received his webmaster certification from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Dana Dunleavy
Dana Dunleavy is currently the Director of Creative Services for SRS Software, Inc. SRS Software designs, develops, markets and supports digital medical chart software for the healthcare industry by providing document management solutions. Dana directed the in-house redesign of the company's brand identity and manages the ongoing design application and identity standards.

Prior to joining SRS Software, Dana was the Creative Director at New York Life Investment Management where she built and managed a creative team that supported the design needs of multiple business lines.

Dana graduated with a BA degree in Graphic Design and advanced studies in Illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.

Dana is an award-winning designer and has received awards for brand-logotype design and print materials from American Corporate Identity, Graphic Design USA and Association of Graphic Communications. Her volunteer activities include serving as Chairperson of Inaugural (CIRCLE) Organization (which is dedicated to building effective communications across an organization) and working with the American Heart Association.

Andy Epstein
Andy started his career as an illustrator and designer after graduating from Carnegie-Mellon University. After 12 years as a freelancer Andy moved in-house building and heading up the graphics departments at Commonwealth Toy and Novelty and later at Gund Inc. Currently, as Director of Graphic Design and Print Production at Bristol-Myers Squibb, Andy manages a 50+ person creative group responsible for much of the graphic design, copywriting and web design generated for his company.

In his spare time he acts as vice president of InSource, an organization he co-founded, that is focused on addressing the needs of the in-house design community. Andy has written articles for HOW and Graphic Design: USA in addition to contributing to articles featured in Dynamic Graphics and the Rockport Press book “Bringing Graphic Design In-House”. Speaking engagements include moderating numerous InSource events, presenting to NJCAMA and JSPRAA, two regional marketing associations and participating in a panel on in-house issues at the most recent AIGA GAIN conference. Awarded a Sappi “Ideas That Matter” grant, he is most proud of the book published with that award that he created with the students of The Lakeview School, an institution devoted to the needs of children with Cerebral Palsy.

Robin Friedman
Robin Friedman joined Aquent in 1998 as an agent, and was quickly promoted to team leader of the creative group in Los Angeles. In 2000 she joined the New Jersey office where she is Director, Business Development. Robin's accomplishments with Aquent include developing consultative relationships with such companies as Bristol-Myers Squibb, Sony, Amgen Kaiser Permanente, Warner Bros., EMI, Unilever Cosmetics and Pfizer.

Prior to joining Aquent, Robin worked in the music industry where she concentrated on account management and marketing for Warner/Elektra/ Atlantic in NYC and Billboard Magazine, both Los Angeles and London. Robin was also General Manager of Little Major Records (LMR), an independent record label, where she was responsible for the Art Direction for packaging and advertising.

Robin's account management and consultative support experience combined with her understanding of art and design have enabled her to thoroughly understand her clients' needs at Aquent. She is dedicated to providing them with the best talent and service the world has to offer.

Joan Lamensdorf
Joan Lamensdorf is currently the Senior Creative Manager of the award winning Category Promotion Design Center at the Johnson & Johnson Group of Consumer Companies, a leading provider of consumer healthcare brands including Listerine, Sudafed, Benadryl, Lubriderm, Purell, Neosporin, and Rolaids. Joan started her J&J career at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare in 1997 and built the Design Center creative team that designs and produces the majority of consumer and trade promotions including FSIs, displays, POP and in-store programs, direct mail, brochures and promotion packaging.

Prior to joining J&J, Joan managed the Design Center for Nabisco Creative Services providing design solutions for top brands including Oreo, Chips Ahoy!, A1 Steak Sauce, and Grey Poupon. Joan began her career as a designer for Nabisco and Andersen Consulting.

Joan has a BA from Catholic University in Washington, DC and lives in Madison, NJ.

Bruce Rogers
Bruce is Creative Manager at J.H. Cohn LLP, the largest independent accounting and consulting firm in the Northeast, where he contributes his expertise to J.H. Cohn's branding initiatives, advertising, internal and external communications.

Before joining J.H. Cohn in 2006, Bruce was Manager of Creative Services at Atlantic Mutual Companies, where he oversaw a team of award-winning graphic and web designers. His responsibilities included: developing and managing Atlantic Mutual's advertising, internal and external communications, marketing collateral, multi-media and electronic forms. He also was responsible for the design and maintenance of the corporate internet and intranet sites. Bruce started at Atlantic Mutual Companies as their Graphic Design Supervisor.

Prior to joining Atlantic Mutual in 1994, Bruce was Creative Director for the Ormond Shops, Inc. in North Bergen, New Jersey, a national fashion retail chain with over 260 stores. At Ormond Bruce handled everything from in-store POP marketing and package design, to direct mail campaigns. Bruce started at Ormond in 1984 as a graphic designer.

Bruce received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the California College of the Arts in Oakland, California in 1984.

Mary Birman
Mary Birman is Design Manager and Fusion Brands Team Lead at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. She leads a multi-functional team that supports promotional Marketing initiatives across all brand teams and corporate functions. Services provided include print design, photography, editorial support, national and regional corporate advertising and interactive development for e-detail and tablet PC initiatives.

Mary has been leading design teams within the pharmaceutical industry for 15 years. Previously, she was Partner and Consultant at Berkeley Corporation, providing Mac-based design training and consulting to agencies, corporations and publishers.

Mary has a degree in design and communications from Allegheny College.

Advisory Board:

Emily Cohen
As a consultant to creative professionals for over 20 years, Emily Cohen provides confidential, experienced, and objective advice to both established, small to mid- size creative firms and in-house creative departments. She offers expertise on writing winning proposals, creative briefs and contracts, implementing effective staff management strategies, conducting client surveys and negotiating collaborative client and vendor relationships.

She currently serves on Advisory Board of both InSource and Worldstudio Foundation. Emily has served as Secretary for the AIGA/NY Board of Directors and has taught classes and conducted seminars for many leading design schools and organizations. She also worked with New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) as Consultant to the Dean to initially develop and launch their new Certificate of Graphic Design program and continues to teach their Business of Graphic Design course.

As frequently requested speaker on business-related issues for the creative industry, Emily has spoken at past How Design Conferences as well as to local AIGA chapters in Raleigh, Baltimore, Chicago, Boston, Nebraska, Philadelphia and New York.

Gordon Kaye
Gordon Kaye is Editor and Publisher of GDUSA, now in its 41st year as the monthly magazine for graphic designers and other creative professionals. Prior to entering publishing, Kaye had another career as an intellectual property lawyer with a Wall Street law firm and, later, as corporate in-house counsel at the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) working on, among other things, Saturday Night Live. He is a graduate of Hamilton College, with a law degree from Columbia University and a Masters in public policy from Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School.
